A GOOD WEEKEND - FINALLY

It was really nice change if scenery. Had a real good time at the Born Free show. What's not to like, free food, free beer, no fee to park. Great turn out. Even in this screwed up economy people still managed to show their stuff.

We got there kind of late since we had to stop at Sporty Specialties (RANDY!) to pick up a sprocket cover for Randy's Ironhead, then I finally line up a shot and guess who walks right in front. We didn't get a chance to stop by the Cycle Zombie shin dig.

Gonna post more. For some reason uploads going slow>

WORK SUCKS BUT I NEED THE BUCKS

Never thought that I'd ever be working so much. My life consists of sleeping (5-6 hours) and other bodily functions. Throw in a shower and..THAT'S IT!

Recent events in China (melamine? in milk products) have spurred an incredible demand for nutritional supplements like calcium magnesium, vitamin D and others. The powerful Chinese economy flexing it's muscle. Lucky for me, I work for the "worlds leader" manufacturer of nutritional supplements...yea lucky.

Oh yea, did I mention Swine Flu?

So, next weekend it's party time! I'm going to make up for lost time.. TWO EVENTS, ONE DAY!

IT'S GOOD TO DREAM

Way back when I couldn't live without the latest issue of -Dirt Bike Magazine - all I could think about was riding around on my Yamaha in the desert.

My dad and I went down to Mason Motors and was able to convince him that a motorcycle would be a practical vehicle to acquire. I think he understood how I felt. We walked out of there with a little 50cc Mini Enduro that I kept in my bedroom. I remember the salesmen telling dad he just had just enough on his master card if he maxed it out. You don't see these much anymore, even at the LB Swap Meet. They're hard to find. Lesson learned - DON'T SELL YOUR MOTORCYCLES!

My neighbors Drew had a Honda Trail 70 and Mark had a SL-100 which we rode around the neighborhood daily during those summers, taking turns tearing up each others back yards. We learned that we could only ride around for about 15 minutes at a time before the old ladies in the neighborhood called the cops. We'd wait till they'd go by, then it was back to riding. Cat and mouse all summer long!

INSPIRATION

A few years back there was a bike that really caught my eye. The lines were perfect.
Cole Foster is one of those Hot Rod guys that has some amazing talent. I've never met the dude, but over the years I've read many articles and stories about the vehicles he brings to life. Below are some shots of a little blue bike that served as an inspiration for me to put something together.

Then out of no where in the Custom Chrome booth ( huh? ) there it was in real life! I asked Tony to take a picture. Found out that day that there was a deal in the works to have the bike sold as a kit through Custom Chrome! No-Way, selling out to Custom CRAP! I guess the deal never materialized, but you can get the oil bag and the tank in a similar version.
You can ckeck out Cole's latest creation at... http://www.thehorsebc.com/

Now it’s our turn to help the Lewis family – Janice, Elva, Otis and Jim – to rebuild a way of life for them and a welcoming haven for motorcyclists.
The Southern California Norton Owners Club – with Janice’s permission – will be coordinating fund raisers.
In the interim, donations can be sent to:
SCNOC, P.O. Box 61132, Pasadena, CA 91116-7132

SOME DUMB ASS CAUGHT OUR HILLS ON FIRE

After many years of cruising around the Crest some BONEHEAD intentionally started a fire, killed two firefighters and in the process destroyed a wilderness like no other.

This is what Hidden Springs Cafe looks like now.
Just a few weeks ago Rick and I rode up there and he took these pictures of our bikes. We didn't wait around for the place to open, we should have.
