ANOTHER VICTUM OF THIS MESSED UP ECONOMY

http://www.buell.com/en_us/company/

This is really sad news and should also be a wake-up call for all of us. As the stock market reached 10,000 on Thursday Erik Buell announced that the Buell Motorcycle will no longer be produced.

The mainstream media keeps telling us that the economy has rebounded and we're heading out of the recession. Really, with signs like these it should be easy to tell we are being fed a bunch of crap. I'm not a economist, but I do know that you can't spend money that you don't have without having to pay it back someday. The dollar keeps losing value against all other currencies and people a snatching up GOLD.

All the signs are there, connect the dots.

I think it's time for a long ride.

DRIVE-IT-LIKE-YOU-STOLE-IT

Here's your chance to show off your go-cart skills.

After many years I got a chance to shoot the S_ _ T with a buddy from work. He's an up and coming promoter for those 4 wheel sidewalk scrapers. Check out his latest gig in Orange on Wednesday. With a name like Giovanni Silva what else do you expect someone to do?

THIS WEEKEND

FOR ALL OF THE I LOVE LUCY FANS

UH OH, AS I WAS SAYING -NO LOVE-

Wow, here's the latest from OS. Poor guy. Can you say lawsuit? After 25 years of service to his community this is the thanks he gets. Now who do you think is causing all of the uproar? Remember the couple on the bagger?

Picture of me and Alissa on the Sportster.

To all fellow Love Riders, Volunteers and valued Supporters:

It appears there may have been a misunderstanding about the information that was sent out yesterday regarding the Love Ride being forced to cancel this year.

First of all, the activities going on at Glendale Harley-Davidson during the Love Ride weekend are in support of the Love Ride Foundation. All proceeds generated from the sale of previous and current year's Love Ride merchandise is all going to benefit the charity. The Love Ride Foundation is a IRS 501c3 recognized non profit charity. All donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Secondly, we are willing to give refunds to those of you who have already been generous enough to pre-register for the event. We understand that times are hard for everyone and that many of you would rather get your money back than make a donation for an event that you will not be able to participate in.

We were simply asking that you consider maintaining all or part of the money you had contributed in order to assist the Love Ride Foundation in covering the obligations it has incurred thus far in preparing for this event. This is why we offered Love Ride 26 souvenir pin, patch and t-shirt in exchange for the donation as a token of our appreciation for your continued support.

If you would like a refund or have any questions please contact us at (818) 246-5618 ext. 141.

We are all very saddened by this turn of events but the Love Ride spirit is still very much alive in all of us and we very much look forward to returning when times are better for everyone.

Thank you for your support. God Bless.

NO LOVE?

The other day while I was trying to focus my eyes after a 12 hour shift, an email came in pretty much saying that one of the biggest 1 day bike fund raisers is no more? Can't say I'm really surprised. The first few years of the Love Ride were real cool, but as time went on and the fat tire crowd became more prevalent, it became a yup fest. Damn these people ruin everything!

O.K. maybe I'm being too harsh. There are probably many other factors, including the not so great economy. Anyway, things change and sometimes for the better. One thing though, motorcycling means different things to different people and I guess it's all good, but sometimes I wonder.

EXAMPLE == Last spring as my daughter and I were riding around in Laughlin. I lost my shifter (that's another story) as I was making a left hand turn. Now typically a normal human on two wheels would have stopped and lent a hand. Not this idiot. He got all pissed of at me because I (along with 40 other riders) pulled a left turn at the same time he was making a right. I guess he got scared. I could see if I hadn't made eye contact with him, or if we were both in our cages..Anyway this guy and his wife were all decked out in brand new chaps, leather jackets, gloves, HD booties, matching his-hers helmets, microphone in the helmet, the whole nine-yards and of course the brand new bagger with all the latest Screaming Chicken stuff. Crap, it was 100 degrees! So after we picked up the shifter and stuck it back on, we just happen to pull up along side of you know who. I really couldn't hear what he was saying at first, but then my daughter with the better hearing said he was pissed. Shoot I though he was making fun of my mechanical skills! Pissed at what!! I gestured that he should stop crying and ride. The light changed, we took of and all was well again.
I guess what I'm trying to say that there are people who take this crap WAY TOO SERIOUS.

Have I made my point?

ENJOY THE ART.

DEATH OF SATURN - RISE OF THE PINTO

The news for GM continues to get worse as U.S. automaker business unit Saturn folds for good. It's sad, but the deal with Penske fell through because no one in the U.S. or abroad wanted to build Saturns, even with the backing of Penske. GM execs are so stupid, they had a great product in the electric Saturn way before anyone and they had a network of dealerships. All was good. But, in usual GM style, let's not think about the future and CASH IN on the BIG SUV market -PROFIT-PROFIT-PROFIT. No vision = your broke.
When will the U.S. automakers start to listen to the consumer instead of their pocket books? If you listen to how former GM CEO (Bob Lutz) talks about the GM brand you'd think he's running for office! Hey STUPID, your selling cars remember!
OK, last comment on this. Now Chevy has the "Volt". Once again putting all of their eggs in one basket. They want you to buy a 40K car that is probably made of the same stuff of the now gone Saturn. Are you kidding me!! What GM needs to do is fire all of the dead wood and hire some fresh minds. Yea, you know, people with long hair, tattoos and that ride motorcycles.
GM ARE YOU LISTENING???
