A few diamonds amoung the sea of ape hangers and stereo systems.
One of the coolest thing I saw amoung the sea of tee-shirt vendors - Baja Iron - a conversion kit for your sporty. Check out their site.
The AVI still hosts the drags. Got to run em this time. Would have done a couple of more runs, except I lost my oil cap and sprayed oil all over the track and my tire.
Attendance was way down again this year. Nothing but baggers, baggers and more baggers. Still fun though to see friends we haven't seen in a while. Here's the first batch of pictures.
That's right, ..Loud Fast Rules!
Latest fashion in bagger wear..Crotchless pants.
Got a boat at home that needs some hull work? Here's a cleaver way to put that pile to good use.You turn it into a bar of course..A "BOAT BAR". Yep, some of the people there are fed up with the Run and are looking for ways to bring it back to a RUN instead of a goofy show and shine.
Still it was fun and despite a little wind the weather was great!
Since I couldn't make it to the Hippy Killer or anything else for that matter, so the best I could do is go to Walmart and pick up the latest Horse BSC magazine *SAD*
Check out the May issue and a sweeeet shovel. You can also check out the Jockey Journal.
ONCE AGAIN IT'S TIME TO RIDE OUT TO WINCHESTER AND ENJOY A HOEDOWN. IT'S A NICE RIDE OUT ONCE YOU GET OUR OF THE CITY. THE BEER IS CHEAP AND THERE'S PLENTY OF SPACE TO KICK BACK AND SPEND THE DAY. NOT TO MENTION THE BIKES AND CARS THAT ATTEND ARE FIRST CLASS. THIS YEAR COLE FOSTER IS ATTENDING , HOPEFULLY BRINGING DOWN SOME OF HIS WORK - CLEAN.
No helmet, no boots, no gloves, no green or red sticker, no PlayStation, NO PROBLEM! This was our Playstation. Kids could be kids and experience how to be one with their machine. Is it a wonder why many of us who enjoyed these simple pleasures still ride.
In a world where people are too self conscious and worry about what everyone thinks, or if they got the right look, blah, blah, blah. It's refreshing to see some people don't really give a crap about all that and do what ever it takes to have a little fun. Check out this add I ran across today on Craig's List, in no less the motorcycle for sale section. Don't know if the add is real but, since I myself have felt this way, I can relate to how this chap feels. What a great story this would make if you have the resources to help out.
Dear Chopper God,
Im sick of not having a bike. this is totally fucked. i work my gay retail job just to make enough to pay rent and to live in los angeles with the supastars, and im just so happy to do so. all im asking in return for being a faithful subscriber for years now to all chopper blogs, dice, greasykultures, japanese mags and regular visitor/patron to gargecompanys an glorysales, fleamarkets&thrift stores-(gettin my look right)...Is to get my knees in the breeze, out on the road. feelin free, gettin my kicks, ect.
im not asking for any pan/shovel, pre-unit, amazingly storied barnfind berdoo/oakland chopper, i just need to get to born free...ironhead, oil in frame, smoking dog; THAT ROLLS!! the last 2 years showing up in a car an leaving in a car was so weak. Enough complaining!

Last year rode out to the race to check out some vintage iron and enjoy the sounds of Smile Face Down, hosted by none other that the master of good times - Meatball. You've got to check this out. If you have a dirtbike sitting in the corner of your garage that you haven't started in 20 years, now's your excuse the clean out the carb and fire-it-up. If it won't fire, be a spectator and support this event. Guaranteed to keep you bustin' up all day long.
One good thing about the rain. Sort through some old pictures clogging up your SD card.
Back in the 70's these were the shit. There's nothing so memorable than exhaust tone and smell coming out of these.
Equally as cool back then was a Kawi Tripple. You better have a set of plugs if your going to ride this around all day.
HD Sprint. Now i know where Honda got the idea for this type of engine.
Last summer got a chance to visit the paddock thanks to the Ulrich racing team. YEA - Monster. This bike had just taken a spill. No injuries, just a few scrathes.
This is just cool. Sight glass to watch them moving parts. Hmmmmm. This gives me and idea.
Look very closely at this picture. Someone takes their gas out when their not riding..
Zoey the Wonder Dog takes over, decides to do some renovations around the Garage. One thing leads to another and suddenly your working 24 hours of overtime, no time for life again.
So last time out we went to the Dice Party in Duarte. A bit of a disappointment I must say. The parking lot was so dark you couldn't see shit. The turn out was not as good but, as they say, it's not quantity it's the quality. Nice bikes, lots of classy wheels. One thing for sure, I can now confirm that the 3 Corman's SUCK! Hey, my ears have many years of experience and when it comes to music I can be pretty objective and tolerant of a few bad notes and off key screamo but, after a while it's just not funny. Purposely causing feedback with your guitar just gets annoying. Too bad though because the Dick Dale type sounds are cool at times but, that's my take and I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.
Sneak peak of the bike that is going to be at both events this weekend. Yes, it is for sale. Get a chance to speak to the builder/owner. Stuff this nice and new does not last. JUMP ON IT!
After doing some searching around, found out that one of my favorite bLOGS is no more. Not sure what happened but it sounds like the Evil Doers had a hand in it. BCM R.I.P and hope things iron themselves out. It was a good run and I personally enjoyed every post.
When you think of Duarte, motorcycles and debauchery don't really come to mind. So, how do you resolve this? Bring in DiceMagazine of course. That'll do it.
